Der Hammer

For two years starting in the middle of 2014 I took up residence in Sheffield UK. In that time myself and my partner started up a club night called Der Hammer that had tenure in various pubs and bars in the city for just over a year. The club night’s music policy mainly played synthpop, minimal synth, italo, new romantic and other similar genres so when taking an artistic approach to the club’s visual promotion, including poster design, I opted to really pull in various graphic elements and image sources that would “hammer” home to the public what the musical style of the club night was. The art direction took on elements of 80s pop art, bright colours and showcased imagery of colourful characters from that era.
