When approached by friend and Berlin-based electronic musician Ben Bloodygrave to do album artwork for his new EBM-inspired project called Transhuman Rebirth, the initial brief that we discussed was his vision of a “modern cyborg meets Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man“. At the very start there was a challenge: to work that concept into my own established design aesthetic and workflow. Most commonly that type of graphic would be approached by a 3D visual artist with a very modern treatment, however in this case a more cut-and-paste “punk” approach was taken, with hand-drawn elements included in the artwork.
